Animal Friends

The TVWC Animal Friends Committee primarily supports the Animal Friends of the Valleys animal shelter. The shelter is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that depends on donations for support of programs to benefit homeless animals in Southwest Riverside County. The shelter provides the following programs:

§         Animal Care and Control

§         Adopt-A-Pet at the Shelter, or at Petco and PetSmart stores

§         Volunteer and Animal Foster Programs

§         Education Programs

§         Lost and Found

§         Micro chipping

§         Spay/Neuter Assistance

§         Licensing

§         Low Cost Shot Clinics

Our committee’s primary goal is to proactively respond to the needs of homeless animals at the AFV shelter. Our committee’s main activities include:

§         Monthly meetings strategize how to support the shelter

§         Volunteering at the Animal Friends of the Valleys annual fundraisers

§         Monthly collection of dog and cat food, kitty litter, sheets, towels, carpet, pillows,

§         newspaper, etc. for the animals at the shelter

§         Donating specific items needed by the shelter (i.e. vacuum, video camera to record animal abuse cases, grooming items, steel cages)

§         Donating silent auction baskets and live auction items for the fundraisers

Our Animal Friends Committee welcomes new members to help support our committee’s purpose and goals! And, of course, to help the animals in need.
