Over the years TVWC has donated over $20,000 to the Murrieta Library and committee members have volunteered countless hours. Dedicated to assisting wherever needed, we help with the passport program, shelve books and volunteer in the Friends of the Murrieta Library Bookstores. Through “Book Express” we deliver books to shut-ins and visit elementary schools with the “Books on the Go” program. Additionally, we participate in many of the library’s and Friends’ fundraisers and activities.

The pleasure of your company is requested at the Second Annual

“Stay At Home and Read a Good Book Ball,”

on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 7 o’clock p.m.

This is your opportunity to relax at home with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and read that book that has been sitting on your shelf for how long?  At the same time, at no extra cost beyond the price of a ticket, (a $20.00 donation) or inconvenience, you will be assisting in providing a program for teenage girls to assist them in bridging that social skills and knowledge gap that often exists between high school and college or a job.  The Murrieta Public Library will present, in conjunction with the Temecula Valley Womans’ Club  a one-day conference for young women in the Valley that will cover such topics as resume preparation and interview tips, social etiquette, how to manage your finances and maintaining a healthy body/healthy mind, including make-up, appropriate dress, etc.  This conference will be presented in the early Fall.

Due to the extreme financial strictures that are currently faced by the Library, staff would not be able to provide this program without outside financial assistance.  So please respond to this invitation and invite your friends, relatives and neighbors to the Ball as well.  About 60 young women from Murrieta, Temecula and our neighboring cities will be very grateful.

If you would like to donate, please send your contribution payable to
