International Outreach Committee
Who We Are
The primary objective of the Temecula Valley Woman's Club International Outreach Committee is to become an active and integral part of our “world community." We strive to increase awareness within our community and our own organization.
What We Do
Our focus is supporting and donating to international charity organizations; especially our GFWC partnerships: Operation Smile, UNICEF USA, Shot@Life, and Heifer International.
In 2015 we supported Operation Smile with a hands-on project of making 100 Smile Bags for young children recovering from cleft palette and cleft lip surgeries. TVWC members contributed 900 items to fill the bags; toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, soap, wash cloth, comb, stuff animal, coloring book, and crayons for each bag. Another hands-on project we completed were 50 pillowcase dresses for PrettyDresses for Africa.
From our funds we donated to Shot@Life for vaccinations for children worldwide, to UNICEF USA Healthy Villages program to install a water pump in a village in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and to purify water in the villages of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and to Heifer International for a Basket of Hope (rabbits and chickens) that helps a woman provide for her family .We also contributed to the educational programs of Doctors Without Borders; instructing women in South Sudan about prenatal and postnatal care and to Save the Children; for the education of African girls.
When a natural disaster strikes in the world TVWC is there to help. Most recently TVWC donated to UNICEF USA for the Nepal Earthquake aid and recovery.
What We Support
We support a number of international challenges which focus on education, health, housing, human rights, hunger, safety, violence against women and water purification.
