THE TEMECULA LIBRARIES COMMITTEE

OUR MISSION: The Temecula Libraries Committee of the Temecula Valley Woman's Club is composed of a group of TVWC members who are dedicated to promoting the idea that libraries are not a luxury but a necessity. It is our mission to assist in the enrichment of our libraries and in the promotion of community literacy. We are a group of women who have a passion for reading and for sharing with the community all that our two beautiful libraries have to offer. As a committee, we help wherever we are needed, assisting with library events, daily tasks, working in the Friends of Temecula Libraries bookstores and assisting at the Friends’ annual meeting in September. We do not have any regularly scheduled committee meetings. We know that some of you may not have the time and/or energy to participate in the committee's activities. There are three other ways to support the libraries:

1) Please consider joining the Friends of the Temecula Libraries (FOTL). The Friends contribute to the purchase of books, equipment, media and materials, sponsor free cultural and educational programs for people of all ages, and underwrite the children’s summer reading program. There are a variety of membership levels, including Individual for only $20/year; Family for $30/year; Supporting for $50/year; Business for $100/year; Super Friend for $100/year and Life for $250. Membership applications are available at the Temecula Library Bookstores as well as online at www.friendsofthetemeculalibraries.org. Just click on the tab "Join the Friends."

2) Come shop in our two bookstores for "almost new" books for all your reading pleasures. We have many book categories including fiction and non-fiction, new releases, paperbacks, history, biographies, military, politics and government, travel, foreign language, business, cooking, crafts, gardening, self-help, romance, science fiction, classics, large print, westerns, sports, animals, children's picture books and chapter books, autographed books, encyclopedias, collections, coffee table books, art, music, poetry, humor, true crime and textbooks. We also carry books on tape, books on CD, DVD movies, music on CDs and puzzles. There are ongoing sales. All funds raised from book sales are donated to the libraries. One FOTL Bookstore is located behind the Grace Mellman Community Library at 41000 County Center Drive. The second FOTL Bookstore is located by the front entrance of the Temecula Public Library at 30600 Pauba Road. The hours of both bookstores are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (The Grace Mellman Community Library bookstore is open from 1 - 4 p.m. on Saturdays.)

3) Donate your gently used books to the bookstores. We will provide you with a tax deductible receipt.
